Great Place to Stay!!
I have been at this establishment three or four times. My family and I needed a place to stay not too far from the St. Louis Zoo. It is a friendly place and the staff make us all feel like we are at home, but even better than at home.
Superb Find
My husband and I were delighted to find the Inn. It was the celebration of our 50th Wedding Anniversary! Everything about the Inn was perfect; the rooms were spotlessly clean, the baked cookies in the lobby were superb and the patio was a charming locale to converse with other guests. The location was close to downtown but far enough away to be peaceful. Look forward to returning.
Exquisite and Kind
The staff go above and beyond expectations. From their deluxe accommodations which are updated with modern conveniences, their delicious breakfast, hospitality and thought behind all the details, they are to be commended. We are excited to return and hope others can enjoy it as well.
Thanks for Taking Such Good Care of Us
My family and I rented three rooms over Thanksgiving. We loved the hotel, especially the wonderful staff. Angela was a great help with my rather complicated reservations. George was a very kind and friendly night clerk. But honestly, everyone at the Inn was helpful, professional, and couldn't have been nicer.
Long Distance Success
As parents of the groom, we want to let you know what a great evening we had at Seven Gables Inn. Since we do not live in St. Louis, it was a challenge for us to plan such an important event long distance. However, your general manager, Stacy Wallace, made it easy for us. She showed us the facility when we came to St. Louis, worked with the chef, went over dinner details via phone and email with us, and then spent the evening helping her staff with service. With Stacy's effort and dedication, the evening was a huge success!!
All the Best!
I just spent the last week thoroughly enjoying my stay at Seven Gables. Your service, housekeeping and continental breakfast were far superior to anything else I have experienced in Clayton. As far as I am concerned your place is the only place for me to stay while commuting to Clayton for my work. Each day of my stay, all of your service staff showed me care and quality service –but one of your service staff in particular went above and beyond the call of duty and his name is George. He attempted to make my stay away from home as close to home as possible. That kind of consideration and care is priceless in this day and age. My hat is off to you, George! Thanks for making my stay there one of my best weeks away from home.
Seven Gables Inn, a St. Louis treasure
I have never been moved to write about a place that I have stayed in over the past 14 years of traveling for my executive search business. Seven Gables changed that.
Business travel can be so impersonal, with even the leading chains, which still feel like cookie cutter hotels, $15 charge for wireless and oops the 24 hours expired, and no matter how well trained and solicitous the staff may be at the large chain business hotels may be, you sort of know they are just doing their job as instructed.
At Seven Gables you feel like a guest in a wealthy relations home. The way guests are treated is with genuine kindness, not perfunctory.
My work appointments were greeted at the large walnut desk downstairs by polished, bright, upscale staff, dressed beautifully yet not in uniform, and were encouraged to have a drink while they waited. For my arriving contacts, it must have seemed as though this was the St. Louis location of my company. Even though I had quite honestly forgotten, final documents I had asked to have printed for my meetings were slipped quietly into my hands; I swept down the stairs past the desk my client none the wiser. Boy was I impressed! There are several private locations to meet with a work contact—the courtyard was my favorite.
Once work was done, I ventured out on a long walk with no worries, as I knew the folks back at the Inn would be just a call away if I ventured too far and got caught in the rain. In fact it crossed my mind they might even be concerned about me if it got too late. A nice feeling in a new city where I knew no one. Instead I got caught at the Galleria Mall and they sent a cab to pick me up as it was late and dark and I preferred not to walk.
The next day, I slipped down the stairs early (5:50am) in my robe to grab a steaming coffee to bring to my room and found a lovely breakfast already laid out as well. I personally would never ride down an elevator to a Marriott or other such lobby to grab a coffee in my robe, and when working away on a laptop in your room, isn’t that a really nice option to have as a way to start the day?
Oh, and after assuring them that I needed no help carrying my newspapers and breakfast up the carpeted stairs, they reminded me that the quiche was not quite ready but would be out of the oven shortly. Does it get any better than this?
