We had a casual post wedding celebration here and I cannot say enough about the staff and the inn. We had several people from out of town and all of them remarked on how great the food was and how nice the inn was. The general manager was wonderful to work with us helping us to plan our event. They even shut down the pub to the public so we could use it for our party. The food was great; there was a huge variety of choices. Also, the rooms were great. They had a nice comfy feel with huge beds and a nice historical feel. The hotel had a lot of nice amenities you find with a hotel but also had a great small inn kind of feeling. I cannot say enough about this inn. Not only will we be staying there again, we will also be recommending it to anyone from out of town. It is a great location- there are several great restaurants and bars within walking distance.

I stayed at this Inn to rest up from jet lag after a long flight from New Zealand. The place is clean, small, cosy and quiet. The staff were all excellent, especially the concierge. The rooms have character (old style furniture), but the beds and plumbing are modern and excellent. I slept extremely well. I was without transport so went for a small walk on the street and the area is quiet and safe for the lone traveller with plenty of local restaurants.

The restaurant in the hotel was also charming, the staff friendly and the food excellent. Breakfast was good, and the kind staff even explained, most patiently, what I should do to prepare my bagel (in my country we don’t have such thingsfor breakfast). Sadly I had to visit in the middle of winter, but I think the other months would be even better as there is an interesting looking outdoor area that would be nice to use in the warmer months. I would recommend this hotel to any of my friends in New Zealand, Australia, or to any overseas visitor.
